Český národní podnik, s. r. o. is a 100% Czech company established in 1991. The main business activity is operation of MANUFAKTURA brand-name stores network with Czech folk craft and traditional wooden toys in Prague historic centre. Another significant activity is development, production, wholesale and retail sale of MANUFAKTURA cosmetics inspired by balneology and Czech natural ingredients.

We established our company with the aim to preserve and present Czech and Moravian craft which is in danger of disappearing nowadays. Gradually, we managed to join together more than 250 small craftsmen, former masters of folk production. They are upholders of tradition and owners of small Czech companies whose products are sold in the network of our stores. We help preserve many unique hand-crafted methods by assuring regular market and by collaborating at development, design and protection of their products. The idea of "Czech character and quality", which we have been faithful to since the beginning, makes us almost the only surviving tradesmen with solely domestic assortment in the mass of the Asian one, and thanks to it our stores are unique and diverse. We designed our shops to evoke the atmosphere of good old days and to make customers feel comfortable when visiting them.
In December 1995 ČNP s.r.o. was the first company to have won a prize of "Czech made" for stores network operation. In our shops, excellent customer service, educational information system, selection of assortment consulted with specialists and original interior arrangement are appreciated.

Besides shops with Czech folk craft and traditional wooden toys we operate, as well, solely cosmetic brand-name MANUFAKTURA stores offering attractive range of products for home spa. These stores are also exceptional for inventive architectonic arrangement and original decoration raising pleasant spa atmosphere. Quality staff, who is regularly professionally trained and who can provide customers with information about idea and assortment of Home Spa in a gentle way, plays a strategic role in our shops.
MANUFAKTURA cosmetics
In 1998 we picked up the threads of ancient tradition of fresh glycerate soap production in former Kadlec soap-works in Libeň. Thanks to its success and demand for further products this soap was gradually supplemented by other cosmetic articles. In the course of time we managed to build small cosmetic operation at European level and we launched a few original cosmetic ranges. At development we are inspired by world-famous Czech spa tradition and we discover new effective ingredients - Czech beer, Moravian wine, Carlsbad thermal salt, curative herbs, etc.
We collaborate on unique formulae with prominent spa and cosmetic specialists and dermatologists. On 11th March 2009, all animal testing of cosmetics in the EU stopped thanks largely to two decades of campaigning by the European Coalition to End Animal Experiments (ECEAE). But there is a catch. A ‘marketing’ ban that would also prevent the sale of new cruelly tested cosmetics in the EU is now in jeopardy.
Now some in the cosmetics industry want to delay the March 2013 deadline even longer. If they get their way it could mean 10 more years during which thousands of rabbits, guinea pigs, mice and rats could be injected, gassed or force-fed and killed worldwide for cosmetics products sold in the EU.
